Riviera Beach Police are investigating a “Suspicious Death” that occurred yesterday (1/7/15) at Avenue ‘O’ and A. E. Evans (formerly West 37th Street). On January 7, 2015, at approximately 3:14 p.m., Riviera Beach Police received a call in reference to a crashed vehicle, described as a 4-door red Buick Lacrosse, near the intersection of West 37th Street and Avenue ‘O’. Upon arrival, Police located a 20 year-old male sitting in the driver’s seat of a red Buick. He was unresponsive. Riviera Beach Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the male dead on scene. The man was subsequently identified as Queton Menendez (DOB 8/12/94). Video obtained by police possibly indicates that Menendez may have been the aggressor in the incident that led to his death. The video shows Menendez cutting off a small black SUV at the intersection. He then exited his vehicle and approached the driver’s window with an object in his hand. A short time later Menendez ran south on Avenue ‘O’ as the black SUV drove north on Avenue ‘O’. After a few seconds, Menendez ran back to his vehicle and entered the driver’s seat. He then backed into a fence surrounding a church at the intersection. Police found a fire arm in the vehicle with Menendez. No one else was observed occupying the red Buick.
