On January 24, 2016, at approximately 11:23 p.m., Riviera Beach Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1200 block of West 27th Street. On scene, Officers found Mr. Michael Smith (DOB 9/14/79) lying in the street. He had been injured by gunshots and was unresponsive. Mr. Smith was later pronounced dead at the scene by Riviera Beach Fire Rescue Medics.
Initial investigation led police officers one block away to a home in the 1100 block of West 27th Street where they found three (3) persons of interest relative to this case. The persons of interest were questioned and later released pending further investigation.
