Shortly after 1:00p.m., dispatch received a shots fired call, from 2100 N Australian Ave.
Immediately following the call, a woman (in a car) stopped officers along the 2800 blk of Australian Ave. It was revealed that an 11-year-old passenger in her car was stuck by a bullet as she was driving through the parking lot of 2100 N Australian Ave.
The child was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed the occupants in the car were not believed to be the intended target(s) of the shooting.
Multiple persons were on scene of the shooting and not cooperating with the investigation.
