Greenacres Police need the public’s assistance with information on a hit and run.

Police are asking for help locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-crash that left an 84-year-old woman seriously injured Monday night. The crash happened about 8 p.m. near Sherwood Forest Boulevard and Melaleuca Lane. A good Samaritan found Edwina Deleo lying in the roadway and took her to the emergency room at JFK Medical Center, police said. Deleo was later taken Delray Medical Center because of the extent of her injuries. The investigation showed that Deleo was walking south on Sherwood Forest when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle did not remain at the scene and the driver made no attempt to call 911, police said.
