Delray Beach Police are investigating a homicide on the 700 block of SW 9th Street.

DBPD homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting, which prompted multiple 911 calls and a desperate drive to the hospital to try to save the 18-year-old victim, Tuesday afternoon.
Three calls came in to DBPD’s Communications Unit reporting the 5:21 p.m. shooting in the 700 block of Southwest 9th Street. Detectives believe the shooter and the victim may have had previous issues with each other and had possibly been in a physical altercation before the incident. Witnesses told detectives that the two men were in separate vehicles when the shooter stepped out, approached the silver Cadillac Escalade in which the victim was a passenger and shot him through the window. The driver of the Escalade drove the injured man to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
After hearing reports that a red Toyota Camry was seen at the shooting, officers headed to a Delray Beach home where they believed the Toyota may have been. While officers were at the house, the red Toyota arrived with a woman and a man inside. The man had blood on him. Detectives have detained the two.
