Riviera Beach Police Department need the public’s assistance with more information on the shooting of 82 year-old Louis Clinton.

Police responded to a report of Shots Fired in the 3600 block of Avenue ‘J’ in Riviera Beach around 8:30 p.m. tonight. One male met police in the street. The male had blood on his clothes and body and appeared to be in some state of delirium from an unknown substance. During investigation, police located a female victim in a home in the 3500 block of Avenue ‘J’. She was transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert with serious injury. Preliminary investigation indicates the female victim may have been assaulted, possibly by the male who met police in the street. The suspect in the incident described in the release below has been identified as Derren Morrison (DOB 3/11/88). He has been placed under arrest and is charged with one count of: -Attempted Second degree murder. -Aggravated battery to an elderly person (65 or older). – Burglary with battery. Morrison is currently in the hospital being treated for issues unrelated to the attack on the victim in this case. Upon release, he will be transported and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Morrison assaulted Mrs. Louise Clinton, an 82 year-old female, in her home at approximately 8:30 p.m. last night (3/8/15) after she answered his knock on her front door. After assaulting Mrs. Clinton, Morrison ran a few feet away before collapsing in the middle of Avenue ‘J’. He was initially combative with responding police officers, but was taken into custody without further incident. Mrs. Clinton remains in the hospital where she is reported to be in serious condition.
