Just before noon today, a driver traveling north on State Road 7, just north of Target, noticed what appeared to be a person lying on the side of the roadway. She immediately called 911 for law enforcement and medical assistance. When deputies and fire rescue personnel arrived they found an adult female, still alive, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported as a trauma alert to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Her condition is critical.

The unidentified female is white or Hispanic, between 40 – 60 years of age. She was wearing dark blue sweat pants, blue sweatshirt and white sneakers. She had both hips surgically replaced, in the past. She is missing her middle finger on the left end (old wound).
