Boca Raton Police are investigating an armed robbery at Plaza Hotel in Boca Raton.

On Friday, July 1 at just after 10:50 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Plaza Hotel, 2901 North Federal Highway.

The victim, Pamela Miller, told officers she and several family members are in town for a family reunion and are staying at the hotel. Miller said they had been socializing at the pool all evening and she had been going back and forth to her hotel room through an unlocked sliding glass door. The victim said at about 10:48 p.m., she went into the room and saw the suspect with her laptop bag on his shoulder, rifling through her luggage. She told him to stop and stepped towards him. The suspect took a black and silver handgun from his waistband, pointed it at her, and said, “Stop, (expletive).” The suspect turned and ran out through the main door and into the west parking lot, then south through the rear parking lot. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a dark skinned black male, 25 to 40 years old, approximately 5’10” to 6’ tall, muscular build, with short hair, clean shaven, well groomed and was wearing a blue dress or polo shirt and jeans. He was armed with a black and silver handgun.
