Boca Raton Police are investigating two weekend robberies

The first robbery was an unarmed robbery which occurred Saturday, August 20, at 12:50 in the afternoon. The victim, Effilin Bouger, and her sister were sitting at a bus stop at 250 NE 20th Street, when they were approached by a male on a dark colored bicycle. They engaged the male in conversation about the bus schedule and when he pointed east, they looked in that direction and the male grabbed a thin gold necklace from around Ms. Bouger’s neck. The suspect left west towards Dixie Highway where they lost sight of him.

The suspect is described as black male with a thin beard lining his face, wearing a black t-shirt, baggy black shorts and a baseball cap and riding a black BMX bicycle.

The second robbery occurred on Monday, August 22 at about 12:30 a.m. The victim, Robin Valentine, was walking to her car which was parked at 1 South Ocean Boulevard. As she approached her car she noticed two males walking towards her. Valentine got into her car and as she was trying to close the door, the black male suspect grabbed it, forced it open and demanded her bag. The two suspects were both armed with black semi-automatic handguns. While one suspect took her bag and her Garmin GPS, the other suspect went to the passenger side of the car and rifled the glove box. The suspects left north on foot on A1A then west on Palmetto Park Road.

Both suspects were thin and 15 to 18 years old. One suspect was a white male, about 5’10” tall, with medium length brown hair, wearing glasses and a white shirt. The second suspect was a black male about 5’8″ tall, with short cropped hair and wearing a black tank top.
