Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. along the 700 block of Douglass Avenue near 6th Street.

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Javonte Roker. He suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Police say the shooting was the result of an earlier disturbance between acquaintances.
