Wachovia customer robbed at gunpoint during late-night deposit at Boynton branch

A Wachovia bank customer was robbed at gunpoint late Wednesday as she dropped a cash deposit off at a Boynton Beach branch, according to authorities.

The robber, who covered his face with a red cloth, pulled out a gun on the woman around 10 p.m. after she pulled up to the bank at 1550 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., according to police records.

The gunman forced the victim to hand over the cash deposit then ran westbound. A police K-9 unit was unable to track him. Police are checking for possible surveillance video and fingerprints. The robber was described as wearing jeans and a white shirt.
