The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect that is posing as a US Marshal.

BEWARE … there is an impostor calling members of the community and claiming to be a Marshal from the U.S. Marshal’s Office. This impostor is advising the recipient of the call that he/she or a member of their family has a warrant for their arrest. The impostor goes on to say that the warrant can be rectified by a dollar amount. The impostor threatens to send a U.S. Marshal to the residents home to affect an arrest if he/she does not comply.

The victim received a phone call from an individual claiming to be U.S. Marshals stating he had warrants for the victim’s arrest. Through threats and intimidation, the suspect convinced the victim to withdrawal money from his/her account. After the victim withdrew the money a dark colored vehicle pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle preventing the victim from traveling further. A black male exited the passenger’s side of the suspect’s vehicle, walked up to the victim, flashed a badge & handcuffs and demanded the money. Fearing an arrest, the victim handed over the money.

The suspect was described as: approximately 6’0” tall, muscular build, and having a “T21” tattoo on his left index finger.

This incident occurred on May 26, 2020.
