Deputies responded to a reported shooting that occurred in the 4800 block of Kirkwood Road, unincorporated Lake Worth. Upon arrival deputies learned an adult male was shot in the torso and transported to a local hospital by a friend. The male victim is currently in surgery.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and crime scene investigators are investigating this shooting further.

The motive of the shooting and suspect information is unknown at this time.
