Location: 4700 block of 10th Avenue North, Greenacres (John I Leonard High School)

Deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the area of John I Leonard High School. Upon arrival deputies found no evidence of a shooting. Around 4:00 am, Palm Springs Police Department notified PBSO that they located a victim of a homicide in the 500 block of Purdy Lane which was believed was the result of the shooting that took place in PBSO jurisdiction. Believing this incident occurred in PBSO jurisdiction, detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are the lead investigators of this homicide. We are still in the preliminary stages of this investigation. Suspect information and motive is unknown at this time.

The victim is a male, unknown age.
