Shooting sends SUV into side of West Palm Beach home

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – An 80 year-old West Palm Beach man is fighting for his life after being gunned down early Wednesday morning.

Police say Lamar Davis exchanged fire with at least three males and then he lost control of his suv and plowed into a home where three people were inside including a child.

Davis is in critical condition at St. Mary’s with family members and his pastor by his side.

“Everybody knows Mr. Davis and everybody loves Mr. Davis, ” says his friend Clarence Brewton.

Davis’ family owns and operates Davis’s towing and he is active member of Payne Chapel.

The community now is holding onto hope that Lamar Davis will pull through.

“Come back to the neighborhood, we miss you,” adds Brewton.

The family who lives in the home where the car plowed through does not have insurance.  They are being assisted by The Red Cross and staying at a local hotel until they are allowed back inside.
