Riviera Beach Police are investigating a shooting in the 1200 block of West 36th Street.

Riviera Beach Police are investigating a shooting Incident that occurred on Friday Dec. 23rd at 5:24 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 36th Street. An adult male and teenage female were struck by gunfire in the yard of 1245 West 36th Street. The female’s injuries are life-threatening. The male’s injuries are not considered life-threatening. Shots were fired from a black 4-door Kia Optima as it was being driven west. The driver then fled the scene before abandoning the vehicle in the 3600 block of Avenue ‘T’. After establishing a perimeter and conducting a search, one suspect was taken into custody. Police are still searching for at least two additional suspects. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Boca Raton, Florida on December 10, 2016.

This incident occurred at the same address where three people were shot on November 19, 2016. In that incident, a 25 year-old male, 14 year-old male, and 17 year-old female were shot. All survived the shooting. Suspects in that shooting have been Identified but not yet apprehended.

The teenage victim of this shooting was pronounced deceased yesterday, December 27th. Fifteen year-old Makayla Dennard of Riviera Beach was shot December 23rd as she stood in the driveway at 1245 West 36th Street.

 

This investigation is ongoing. One person of interest was detained and questioned that night. He was later released, but investigators continue to work with the State Attorney’s Office regarding suspects.

The 2nd victim in this case, Nikobra Stringer of Riviera Beach  (DOB 5/16/96), has been released from the hospital.
