Riviera Beach Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred on 8/13/13

On August 13, 2013 at 3:25 p.m., Riviera Beach Police Officers responded to the 600 block of West 2nd Street in response to a “shots fired” call. Upon arrival, Officers located a red Chevrolet Impala with severe collision damage and a black Chrysler sedan with severe collision damage. Both vehicles had collided with other vehicles parked on the street. The Impala had several bullet impacts and the rear windows of the vehicle were completely shot out. The Chrysler had damage from gunfire also. During the early stages of the investigation, three young men arrived at St. Mary’s Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The investigation of this incident includes exploring possible connections between the victims and the suspects in this incident. Police are also investigating whether 3 handguns and 2 assault style rifles, that have been recovered, are related to this case. Police are also investigating another “shots fired” call about an incident that occurred at 4:15 p.m. today (8/13/13) in the 900 block of West 7th Street. Witnesses reported that the occupants of two dark colored vehicles exchanged gunfire. No victims have been identified. All involved vehicles and occupants fled the scene before police arrive.
