Riviera Beach Police are seeking the public’s assistance with information on the homicide of 17 year old Albrisha Jones

Early Saturday (7/9/11) morning Riviera Beach authorities responded to the report of a home invasion at 1151 West 3rd st.  When authorities arrived at the scene they found Albrisha Jones, 17, dead inside the white house with red trim.  She died of a gunshot wound.

Jones did not live at the house where she was found.

Authorities also found a male witness at the scene.  It is unclear at this time what exactly he saw or what he knows, though it is clear that Jones was the one to make the home invasion report.

Authorities continue to investigate the scene at this time in efforts to confirm that a home invasion occurred, and that the death was a homicide.

Mayor Thomas Masters hopes that someone will come forward with information, and has a message for the shooter saying, “you know who you are.  You know who did it.

In Riviera Beach there is a youth curfew requiring anyone under 18 to be off the streets by 11 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. on weekends.

City leaders say the curfew is lowering the number of violent crimes telling us, “we haven’t had a young person killed in the streets during the curfew hours in 3 years.”

“This is one of the best departments in the county and they will not rest until the suspects or suspect is found.”

If anyone has information on this incident they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS stay anonymous and be eligible for up to $1,000 REWARD! You can also text tips to @ tips@cspbc.com
