Riviera Beach Police are investigating a shooting where two people were injured.

Riviera Beach Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 8:00 last night (7/22/18). Shot Spotter technology alerted police that several shots were fired at 1225 West 28th Street. This incident occurred as police began scaling back increased patrol operations that had been in effect since Tuesday, July 17th.

On scene, officers found evidence of a crime, but no victims. They subsequently found that a 25 year-old female victim was attempting to drive herself to the hospital, but crashed her vehicle near President Barack Obama Highway and West 27th Street. She was transported to the hospital by Riviera Beach Fire Rescue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, St. Mary’s Hospital staff notified Riviera Beach Police that a second victim, a 29 year-old male, was at the hospital for treatment. He had been transported by private vehicle. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

From initial investigation, it appears that both victims were sitting in a vehicle in front of 1225 West 28th Street when shots were fired from a vehicle being driven east bound on West 28th Street. That vehicle left the scene after the shots were fired.
