Riviera Beach Police are Investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday, October 12, 2018, at approximately 10:15 p.m. in the 500 block of West 2nd Street.
When police arrived on scene of a reported attempted robbery, they observed a deceased male lying in the driveway area of 563 West 2nd Street. The deceased male was later identified as Junis Lewis, Jr. (DOB 7/16/97).
Shortly afterwards, police were approached by a man who identified himself as the victim and shooter. He advised that three unknown men attempted to rob him at gun point in front of his residence. He further stated that during the encounter, he was able to grab one of the suspects’ guns and shoot one of them.
The victim/shooter was detained for questioning and a search warrant was requested on the property.
