Police searching for second man involved in a shooting

A man shot and killed one of two intruders into his West Palm Beach home early this morning, but not before the homeowner and a woman who was in the house were injured in the struggle, police spokesman Chase Scott said this morning.

The homeowner and a woman who was visiting the house were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center where they were being treated for injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

West Palm Beach police were called to the home at 627 Monroe Drive about 2:25 a.m.

So far, investigators believe two men approached the home. When the intruders encountered the homeowner a struggle ensued, Scott said. The homeowner and his guest suffered some injury, but the homeowner shot and killed one of the intruders. The other ran from the scene, Scott said.

Police were looking for the second person involved in the shooting.
