Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office is investigating a shooting of a bicyclist in West Palm Beach

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd on North Haverhill Road in suburban West Palm Beach.

The shooting victim was riding his bicycle in the 5900 block of Haverhill Road when he was shot in the torso, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. The reason for the shooting was not immediately specified.

It is believed that the victim then rode his bicycle to the 2500 block of Canterbury Drive in Riviera Beach – about one-half-mile northeast of the shooting site – before seeking medical assistance.

The victim, whose age was not given, was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where he was undergoing surgery late Wednesday.
