Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office detectives are still looking for whereabouts of stolen guns

A suburban West Palm Beach gun store was emptied of about 100 firearms overnight Friday by thieves who apparently got in through the wall of the vacant store next door, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

The ransacking of First Choice Guns and Ammo Inc., located across from Palm Beach International Airport at 3361 Belvedere Road was discovered around 9 a.m. Saturday when staff arrived, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Therese Barbera said.

Apparently, suspects broke into the adjacent vacant property and then made their way through the wall between the two stores with a small sledgehammer, Barbera said.

Once inside First Choice, suspects made off with about 100 weapons, including shotguns, rifles and handguns, as well as an unknown amount of ammunition, Barbera said.

The suspects believed to be directly connected to the burglarly are Jeff Jean Pierre, 26; Melvin Goodwin, 20; and Montel Artson, 18. All were arrested on burglary charges and other charges, records show.

Bobby Young, 20, was also arrested on charges of grand larceny of a firearm and dealing in stolen property. Another suspect, Joseph Railey, 35, was arrested on weapon possession and drug charges.

Sheriff’s detectives on Saturday also arrested Grover Willis, 30, of 1284 Marine Drive in suburban West Palm Beach, after finding 14 of the stolen guns stashed at his house, according to an arrest report.

Arrests have been made but detectives are still looking for more information on the whereabouts of the guns.
