Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office are investigating a man’s body that was found in burned Lake Worth apartment.

After searching through the burned apartment of a missing man, detectives Saturday evening found a dead man under piles of debris.

It was not known if the man is 44-year-old Rogelio Perez, who lived in the apartment located in the 600 block of South Dixie Highway, said Palm Beach County sheriff’s spokewoman Teri Barbera. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the man’s identity and cause of death, she said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were called to the apartment after Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews found blood in the bedroom after extinguishing a fire at about 7 a.m. They entered after obtaining a search warrant.

Earlier today, the sheriff’s office said that Perez, who is described as weighing 140 pounds and is 5-foot-7, is a missing and endangered adult. He was last seen Friday at about 11 p.m. driving a 2004 white Ford F-150, Barbera said.

Anyone who has information regarding this is urged to call sheriff’s Detective Amber Bates at (561) 644-5412 or if you’d like to stay anonymous and be eligible for up to $1,000 REWARD call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477) or text tips to tips@cspbc.com
