Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard within the inside lane. The victim, Kerry Clear,  was walking across Okeechobee Boulevard from south to north. The victim failed to yield to the vehicle as she improperly crossed the roadway (not in the pedestrian crosswalk). The front of the vehicle impacted the pedestrian during the crash. Subsequently, the victim impacted onto the pavement as the vehicle driver fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

The unknown suspect vehicle is a silver/gray SUV with front end damage.
