McDonald’s robbed, employee locked up

UNINCORPORATED WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Palm Beach County Sheriff’s are trying to track down a suspect who robbed a McDonald’s restaurant.

The suspect walked into the restuarant along State Road 7, south of Southern Boulevard, about 3:00 a.m. and told the two employees he was armed with a gun.

The suspect then locked the male employee in the freezer while he forced the female to take him to the safe and register.  The two employees were working the midnight shift, stocking up when a man dressed in all black and wearing a mask, came in and said he had a gun in his pocket. That’s when he locked the male in the freezer, stole money from the register and safe, ten left.

Deputies don’t know how much money he got away with.  When they arrived, the thief was long gone. The male employee was able to kick his way out of the freezer and break the lock.  Investigators won’t say if there were surveillance cameras.  As far as how the thief got in, the detective say one of the doors that should’ve been locked- was left open, and they think the suspect just walked right in.  Investigators are now on the lookout for the masked man, Both employees were not injured.
