Man, 27, Shot In Boynton Beach Robbery

Boynton Beach police said a man was shot in the arm during a robbery in front of his Whalers Cove apartment Friday afternoon.

The 27-year-old man told police that he was leaving his apartment at about 4:30 p.m., when he was confronted by a man armed with a revolver, who demanded money from him.

The victim slapped the armed man’s hand and the gun fired, police said. They said the armed man fled the scene after taking the victim’s computer bag, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash and other paperwork.

The armed man was described as black, in his mid 20s, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet tall with a slim build, thin mustache and a chipped front tooth. Police said he was wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said. He was treated and released from Bethesda Memorial Hospital.
