Greenacres Police are seeking information regarding a home invasion/murder

Forty-three-year-old Edward Parnell lived with his mother from time to time and it was his mother who came home Thursday to discover the home’s sliding glass door shattered. Police found Parnell dead inside. His mother, Norma Dennis, said she has no theory as to what led to the crime Greenacres police are describing as a home-invasion. Dennis had packed for vacation, but arrived home just after noon to soon discover her son dead and her luggage stolen. Rather than vacation, Dennis returned to her home in the 5100 block of White Pine Circle to “clean up the blood,” she said. Police released Parnell’s name Friday, adding that the man also was known as Kelvin Hansen. “Edward, that’s the name I gave him,” said Dennis, who added she doesn’t know where police turned up the second name. She also doesn’t know what Parnell was doing for a living. Police spokesman Lt. Brady Myers said the department has no reports of any incidents including burglary, robbery or assault at the townhouse in the last two years. “The only thing I found was an auto burglary.” The home is in The Pines community south of Forest Hill Boulevard and east of Jog Road. Dennis said Parnell is a husband and a father of two girls, one now in New Jersey, the other in South Florida. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
