Boca Raton Police search for second robbery suspect

Boca Raton, FL – On Tuesday, February 8 at about 6:45 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to Publix, 1001 South Federal Highway, where a woman had just been robbed. The victim told officers she had just left Publix and was walking toward her car, when a male pushed her and grabbed her purse. The victim was able to describe the suspect and she was not physically injured.

There were multiple witnesses, several of whom gave chase. One witness saw the suspect get into the passenger side of a dark blue vehicle, which left north on Dixie Highway. The witness provided a partial tag number.

Store surveillance video shows the suspect walk by the victim as she is in line at a register. The suspect is seen again leaving the store right after the victim.

A short time later, an anonymous caller provided police with information about the getaway car. Officers tracked down the car and spoke with the registered owner, who told them his cousin, Daryl Holmes, was in possession of the car at the time of the robbery. The investigation revealed that items belonging to the victim were inside the car. Detectives spoke with Holmes, who admitted to his role as the driver in the robbery. Detectives charged Holmes with robbery by sudden snatching and are still looking for the second suspect.
