Boca Raton Police need the public’s assistance identifying a man who stole a woman’s wallet from an office

On Monday, April 18 at about 12:55 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a burglary from a business at Strategic Capital Resources, 1801 North Military Trail, Suite #203, Boca Raton.

The victim, Lynn Steinberg, told officers she left the office on the second floor for a few minutes, locking the doors behind her. When she returned, she noticed the front door was ajar. She entered the office, and as she walked towards her office, she saw an unknown male come around the corner from the rear of the office. Ms. Steinberg asked him if he needed help and he said he was looking for one of the attorneys.

Ms. Steinberg went to her office and saw her purse on her desk and her wallet was missing. Ms. Steinberg stated she immediately ran out of the office in pursuit of the male. As Ms. Steinberg approached the front door of the office building, she saw the suspect get on a black and white beach cruiser bicycle and ride east on NW 19th Street, then head north on Military Trail. Ms. Steinberg chased the suspect a short distance, but was unable to catch him.

Ms. Steinberg’s wallet was recovered in the building, but all the cash was missing.

Suspect:

Black male, late 20’s to mid 30’s
5’8 to 5’10” tall, 170 to 180 pounds
Short hair and a beard
Wearing a white tank top and dark pants
