Boca Raton Police investigating the burglary of TooJays Deli

At about 6:30 a.m., on Tuesday, March 29, two employees arrive to work at TooJay’s Deli, 2240 NW 19th Street, and discover the front door smashed out and two cash register drawers on the ground.

Boca Raton Police officers arrived and checked the inside of the business. They found the burglar had targeted the cash registers at the front counter and then forced his way into the office by smashing out the glass window in the office door. Once the burglar entered the office, the alarm was activated and he left the restaurant through the front door without getting any money. Although the Deli has an active alarm system, when the alarm company received the alarm activation, they notified a representative for the business who cancelled police response due to previous false alarms.

The restaurant’s camera surveillance system captured the burglar in action. It shows a male in all dark clothing, wearing gloves and his face covered. If anyone has information about this crime, they are asked to call Detective Michael Michel at (561) 620-6187 or if you’d like to stay anonymous and be eligible for up to $1,000 REWARD call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS or text tips @ tips@cspbc.com
