Boca Raton Police are seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man who burglarized Marti’s Deli

On Saturday, September 10 at about 3:10 in the morning, Boca Raton Police officers responded to a burglary at Marti’s Deli, 1159 South Federal Highway. The owner had arrived at just before 3:00 and discovered that the front door was smashed. Due to the door’s hurricane glass, the burglar was unable to gain entry into the business.

Officers on scene found the front glass door to the Rocksteady Jamaican Jerk Café, 1179 South Federal Highway, also smashed out. This time, the burglar was able to get into the business and take about $10 in coins from an open register. A nearby business had video surveillance which captured the burglaries. The video shows that at 9:51 on Friday night, a white male broke into the Rocksteady Café, using a rock to smash the door.

At about 3:20 Saturday morning, while officers checked along Federal Highway for any additional burglaries, they discovered a smashed glass door to Salon Monaco, 555 North Federal Highway. A rock was also used to smash out the lower portion of the front door and several hundred dollars were taken from a cash register. Due to the similar event time frames and that a rock was used to smash the front doors in both burglaries, detectives believe the same person may be responsible.
