Boca Raton Police are investigating an attempted robbery in the parking lot of Renaissance Hotel in Boca Raton.

On Wednesday, June 29 at about 11:15 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the parking lot of the Renaissance Hotel, 2000 NW 19th Street.

The victim told officers that she pulled into the parking lot and parked on the east side of the hotel. She was texting briefly before she got out of her car. As soon as she got out of the car, the suspect approached, pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her and demanded her money and laptop computer. She said she did not have any money and showed him her empty wallet. The suspect made her open the trunk of her car and then the passenger door to look inside. The suspect told the victim to, “Just go.” The victim walked away and went into the hotel and the police were notified shortly thereafter.

The victim did not see which way the suspect left or if he got into a car. The victim was not injured and the suspect did not get any of the victim’s possessions.

The suspect is described as being a Dark-skinned black male with short hair, 5’10” to 6’ tall, stocky or “square” build. Wearing a blue and white shirt with a collar. Grey jeans and a blue and white baseball cap and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
