Boca Raton Police are investigating a robbery to a woman at her home

On Wednesday, September 7 at 7:55 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a robbery that occurred in the 1000 block of SW 12th Road.

The victim, Lillian Martinez, told officers she had just returned home from shopping at Publix, 1001 South Federal Highway and pulled her car into the garage. Martinez said that she was getting out of her car when a male approached her and grabbed her purse. Martinez told officers the suspect refused to let go of the purse and they struggled until the purse strap broke. The suspect ran out of the garage with the purse. The victim was not injured during the struggle.

A neighbor witnessed the suspect get out of a dark, older model car, possibly a Toyota, which seemed to have followed the victim. The suspect ran into the garage and a short time later, the witness saw the suspect run from the garage, carrying an object in his hand. The suspect ran west on SW 10th Street then south on SW 13th Avenue where the witness lost sight of him.

And a baggy black t-shirt
