Police are investigating the theft of 18 license plates from cars parked at Boca Raton hotels over the weekend.

Someone ripped off the plates from at least eight cars around 6 a.m. on Saturday at the Spring Hill Suites at 5130 NW Eighth Ave., according to police records. Surveillance video shows a bicyclist in dark clothes remove two of the tags.

The man is then seen leaving in the direction of the Embassy Suites across the street, where eight more license plates were reported stolen that morning. Two more tags were missing from cars parked at a nearby overflow lot.

No other information was immediately available.
