A man was shot in the stomach tonight during what appears to be a drive-by shooting west of Lake Worth, authorities said.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. in the 4000 block of Janet Drive, Deputy Eric Davis, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said.

The victim, an 18-year-old Hispanic man, was flown by Trauma Hawk to Delray Medical Center with what appeared to be a small-caliber bullet wound, according to sheriff’s office and Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue reports.

The shot possibly came from a four-door, dark-colored vehicle, Davis said.

The investigation is ongoing.
