WEST PALM BEACH — A West Palm Beach man remains in critical but stable condition after being shot in the chest Tuesday night, police said.
Ronald L. Gariepy, 68, was shot during a confrontation at The Villages housing complex. The shooting occurred in the 7000 block of 70th Way, according to police.
Police said Gariepy and members of the homeowner's association were walking around the community and conducting a safety inspection.
The group was confronted by two "suspicious males," police said in a news release.
Gariepy was shot and found lying on a sidewalk when police arrived.
He was transported to the St. Mary's Medical Center.
