After a complaint that two male occupants of a navy Nissan Xterra SUV were offering a ride to two children, ages 9 and 14, on Tuesday night, Boynton Beach police are asking for the public’s help.
The alleged encounter happened near 1600 Renaissance Commons Boulevard around 7 p.m., according to a witness.
The witness told police that the children, who had bicycles, were refusing to enter the car and it appeared that they did not know the men inside.
Boynton Beach Police Spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said in a press release that the witness was not successful in getting the SUV’s license plate.
Slater said the incident is a good time for parents to remind children to never get in a strange car, or to go anywhere with a stranger.
