Riviera Beach – Riviera Beach Police need assistance from the public in their investigation of a recent Suspicious Death.

On April 20, 2010, at approximately 6:10 AM, Riviera Beach Fire Rescue personnel responded to 2401 Beach Court (the Sands Hotel) for a medical call.  Mr.  Robert Doyle (DOB 01-20-1959) advised Fire Rescue personnel that he had fallen and was in a lot of pain.  Mr. Doyle was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.  Several hours later, hospital personnel advised that Mr. Doyle had died from the injuries he sustained. The treating physician suspected that Mr. Doyle’s injuries were not consistent with a fall.

Mr. Doyle sustained broken ribs on both sides of his body and possible other internal injuries. He had what appeared to be bruising along both legs, bruising on one side of his rib cage, and a black eye. The Palm Beach Medical Examiner has ruled the death a Homicide.

It is undetermined how the victim sustained his injuries. Police have reason to believe Mr. Doyle may have been the victim of a recent Assault by multiple assailants.   An investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Lt. Alex Freeman at (561) 629-6031 or if you'd like to stay anonymous and be eligible for up to $1,000 REWARD call Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS.
