Boca Raton, FL - On Friday, December 18, 2009 at about 2:05 p.m., officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department responded to a report of a robbery that occurred outside of Harold Jeweler’s, 2200 West Glades Road.
When officers arrived they met with the victim, Michael Short, who said he had just left Harold Jeweler’s and was walking to his car when he saw another car pull up behind his vehicle. Mr. Short immediately suspected a robbery and ran back towards Harold’s. Three suspects got out of the car and chased him. They caught Mr. Short before he could get back in the store. The suspects grabbed Mr. Short and took his black leather briefcase and two bags. Mr. Short chased the suspects and was able to grab one of the bags. They wrestled and Mr. Short was able to recover one of the bags.
The victim Mr. Short, wrestled with is described as a Latin male about 5’6” tall, about 200 pounds, with short dark hair and a thin beard along his jaw line. The suspects were all dressed in sweatshirts, baggy pants and some kind of cloth was covering their faces. No weapons were seen or indicated.
The suspects got into a light-colored, smaller, four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry and fled the parking lot.
