Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting at West Palm Coin and Jewelry Exchange

*UPDATE: The van has been located.  It was obtained through investigative leads and is currently in PBSO possession*

On Monday, July 26, 2010, approximately 8:28 am, deputies responded to a shooting that occurred at West Palm Coin & Jewelry located at 1784 N. Congress Ave, WPB.

The investigation has determined that John Lauseng, DOB: 7/20/66, of Boynton Beach, had just entered his business when two male suspects, dressed in all black, armed with semi-automatic weapons followed behind.  It is unknown what transpired during the encounter.  We believe John attempted to leave the business when he was shot twice; in the arm and torso area.  He managed to cross Congress Ave and collapse in the Circle K parking lot, directly across the street.  John was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where later passed away.

The suspects have been described as:

  • Approximately 6’01” – 6’02”, 220 lbs, wearing all black, armed with a semi-automatic weapon
  • Approximately 5’08”, 130 lbs, wearing all black, armed with a semi-automatic weapon
