BOCA RATON — Police are looking for two men who robbed a Wendy's restaurant Tuesday morning and fled in a silver or gray SUV.
The robbery happened around 1:30 a.m., as three Wendy's employees closed down the fast-food restaurant at 861 West Yamato Road, police said.
In the parking lot, two armed men wearing ski masks ordered them to hand over their wallets and cell phone.
They then forced the trio back into the restaurant to open the office safe. Inside, one of the robbers grew impatient and yanked on the safe's handle, setting off an alarm.
The pair ran away and may have fled in a gray SUV toward Yamato Road, police said.
One robber is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and the other as being 5 feet 6 inches tall. Both were armed and wore dark clothing and a ski mask, police said.
Authorities ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Det. Juan Pijuan at 561-338-1387 or if you'd like to stay anonymous and be eligible for up to $1,000 REWARD call Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS or text tips @ tips@cspbc.com.
