Police are investigating three shooting deaths, two of which occurred at the same apartment complex within 12 hours of each other.

  • Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a 25-year-old man was found, shot in the face, at 1017 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. Police identified him as Edward Burkes, who was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died. Police are treating Burkes’ death as a homicide.

 

  • At approximately 3 p.m., another man was shot and killed at the same two-story building — an empty lot away from Hook Fish & Chicken, which sits at the corner of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and Tamarind Avenue.

 

  • Police also are investigating a third death, which occurred at 5 a.m. in the 1600 block of 43rd Street. As of Saturday evening, police had not identified the male victim or disclosed the cause of death.
