The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with information regarding an aggravated battery case

During the early morning hours of Thursday July 14, 2011 a Palm Beach Gardens Patrol Officer came upon a severely beaten black male at the rear of the Promenade Plaza, located at 9900 Alternate A-1-A, Palm Beach Gardens Florida. Upon further investigation it was determined that the male was the security officer for the plaza.

It is believed that the security officer was making his normal rounds in the rear of the plaza when he noticed some suspicious activity near the in-ground water meter and back flow preventer valves and possibly interrupted the suspects, who were in the process of dismantling and stealing the back flow preventers. As a result of this, the security officer suffered a severe beating which resulted in him sustaining several facial and skull fractures consequently he has been in a coma since the incident occurred.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is being asked to contact Palm Beach Gardens Detective Boyle of Detective Hawkins at 799-4445, or if you’d like to stay anonymous and be eligible for up to $2,000 REWARD call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477) or text tips to tips@cspbc.com
