The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s assistance identifying a person of interest in a homicide investigation that occurred on I-95.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation that occurred on February 8, 2017, at approximately 11:15 am, in the intersection of Gateway Blvd and the I-95 Southbound ramp. This “PERSON of INTEREST” may have information regarding this investigation.

The victim has been identified as Antoine Smith, DOB: 9/02/85, Boynton Beach.

Detectives have located a stolen vehicle that matches the description of the suspect(s) vehicle, HOWEVER, it is UNKNOWN if the vehicle was used by the suspect(s).

  • FHP responded to an accident that occurred on I95 just north of Lantana Road.  Simultaneously,  Boynton Beach PD responded to an accident on Gateway Blvd and I95.  Upon Boynton Beach PD’s arrival they learned the driver of a white SUV was shot.
  • BB PD responded to FHP’s location.  It was determined at that time that the two accidents were a continuation of the same incident.

It is imperative that ANYONE driving in the area of Gateway Blvd and I95, North of South bound, between 11:20 am and 11:40 am, that may have witnessed ANYTHING (including the gray SUV shooting at the victims vehicle white SUV) call PBSO Detectives Joe Greco at 561-688-4054 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
