Delray Beach Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred on Federal Highway and Lindell Blvd.

DBPD is investigating a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning that left a 25-year-old mixed martial arts fighter with extreme injuries. DPBD’s Traffic Homicide Unit investigators say that the suspect vehicle is a silver Range Rover Sport. Pieces of the Range Rover left at the scene indicate it was built either in the year 2012 or in 2013. The driver side mirror is missing, and there will be damage to the driver’s side headlight and bumper area.

At 12:35 a.m. Sunday, the Range Rover was southbound on South Federal Highway as Jordan Paul Parsons was walking west across Federal at Lindell Boulevard. Parsons was on the south side of the intersection, walking in the crosswalk. The vehicle hit Parsons and fled, leaving him lying in the roadway. A nearby DBPD officer, Derek Chahine, arrived on scene very quickly and applied pressure to Parsons’ severe leg wound until Delray Beach Fire Rescue responded and transported Parsons to Delray Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
It’s unclear at this early stage of the investigation who had the right of way. Investigators say Parsons was wearing headphones when he was hit and may not have heard the vehicle approaching.
